BRIEF HISTORY
The GKI Lachai Roi
Hom-Hom Congregation is part of the Christian Gospel Church (GKI) in the Land
of Papua, which has a long history of ministry in the Baliem Valley. The
preaching of the Gospel in this region began in 1954 by missionaries from the
Christian and Missionary Alliance (CAMA) who landed in Minimo, Baliem Valley.
In 1956, the presence of GKI members in the delegation of the Dutch East Indies
government further strengthened the ministry in this region.
